Just over the bridge

Hampton Wick sits directly across Kingston Bridge from Kingston town centre. Although it shares the KT1 postcode with Kingston, it is in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. It is a compact village: the High Street, the station, the streets of terraced houses and flats leading to Lower Teddington Road, and the edge of Bushy Park and Home Park.

For us it is a very short drive, often less than 10 minutes depending on the traffic over the bridge.

Kingston Bridge traffic

The one thing that slows journeys from Hampton Wick is Kingston Bridge itself. At weekday rush hour and on busy Saturdays, traffic queues back from the bridge in both directions. If you have a flight or train to catch, book a little earlier at those times. Your driver will choose the best route to avoid the worst of it.

Airport runs from Hampton Wick

Being on the west side of the river is a real advantage for Heathrow, as you avoid crossing Kingston Bridge altogether.

• Heathrow: typically 25 to 40 minutes, via Hampton and the A312
• Gatwick: typically 50 to 65 minutes, back over the bridge and down the A3 or A243
• Luton: typically 60 to 80 minutes via the M25 and M1

Hampton Wick station

Hampton Wick station is on the Kingston loop, one stop from Kingston and with trains to Waterloo via Twickenham. If you are arriving late with luggage, we can meet you at the station and take you the short distance home, or further afield.

Riverside and park life

Hampton Wick is surrounded by green space: Bushy Park to the north, Home Park and Hampton Court Palace to the south-west, and the Thames path along the river. Visitors walking through often finish at Hampton Court or Teddington and want a car back. Call us for a pick-up and tell us where you are.

Nights out in Kingston

Many Hampton Wick residents head over the bridge for evenings in Kingston town centre. It is close enough to walk, but at the end of a night, or in the rain, a short taxi ride home is easier. You can book a pick-up time in advance or call us when you are ready.

For a family airport run, a 6 seater taxi can fit everyone and their cases. Child seats are available on request.

Home Park and Hampton Court

Hampton Wick borders Home Park, the large walled park attached to Hampton Court Palace, and the palace itself is about a mile away along the Hampton Court Road. If you are going to the palace, an event or a riverside wedding in Hampton Court, a short car ride saves the walk and the parking. We can also collect you at the end and take you back over the bridge to Kingston or beyond.

Ideal for Heathrow pick-ups

Because Hampton Wick is on the Heathrow side of the river, airport returns are usually quick and straightforward. On the way back from the airport, your driver avoids the Kingston town centre traffic entirely, so you are home soon after you land.
