Driving for Kingston Airport Transfers

We are a private hire operator based on Fairfield Road in Kingston upon Thames, licensed by Transport for London. Our work is almost all pre-booked: airport runs to Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton and London City, transfers to the main London rail stations, and local journeys across Kingston, Surbiton, New Malden, Teddington, Wimbledon and the surrounding areas. We are looking for licensed drivers who want to be part of that.

If you hold a TfL private hire driver licence, often called a PCO licence, and you take pride in arriving on time and looking after passengers, we would like to hear from you.

The kind of work you will do

A typical week with us is a mix of journeys:

  • Airport transfers, our busiest work, including early-morning departures and late-night arrivals. Our Kingston to Heathrow taxi is the run we drive most.
  • Station transfers to Waterloo, Victoria, King's Cross and the other London termini.
  • Local journeys to hospitals, shops, restaurants and homes around Kingston.
  • Regular bookings, such as our school run taxi service during term time.
  • Group travel in larger vehicles, for drivers with a 6 seater or 7 or 8 seater licensed vehicle.

Because we are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, there is work across the whole day and night. [Confirm how shifts or availability work, for example whether drivers choose their own hours.]

What you need

To drive for us, you must have:

  • A valid TfL private hire driver licence
  • A full UK driving licence (TfL requires you to have held a full licence for at least three years before it will grant a private hire driver licence)
  • The right to work in the UK
  • A good knowledge of Kingston upon Thames and south-west London, and confidence driving to the London airports and stations
  • A professional, friendly manner with passengers, including families, older people and business travellers

TfL licensing already includes an enhanced criminal record check and medical checks, so please have your licence details ready when you apply.

Your vehicle

[Confirm your vehicle policy before publishing: for example, whether drivers must provide their own TfL-licensed private hire vehicle, which vehicle types and ages you accept (saloon, estate, 6 seater MPV, 7 or 8 seater), and whether you can help drivers who do not yet have a licensed vehicle.] Every vehicle used for bookings must carry a valid TfL private hire vehicle licence and the correct hire and reward insurance.

Pay and terms

[Add your terms here, for example whether drivers are self-employed, how fares are paid, any commission or weekly fee, and how often drivers are paid. Only publish figures you can stand behind.]

How we support drivers

We take bookings by phone and online, and we pass them on with the details you need: the pick-up address, flight numbers for airport pick-ups, passenger and luggage numbers, and any child seat requests. For airport work we track flights, so you are working to the real landing time rather than waiting around. [Add any other support you offer, such as a driver app, a regular account work base or help with licensing renewals.]

How to apply

Call us on 020 8390 5395 or email us with your name, phone number, TfL private hire driver licence number and expiry date, the vehicle you drive, and the areas you know best. We will get back to you to arrange a chat. Please do not use the passenger booking form to apply.
